Community Guidelines

Dutiess works because every person on it is real, verified and accountable. These are the rules that keep it that way - and what happens when someone breaks them.

updateLast updated: 3 August 2026·groupsApplies to every user, every account

One rule underneath all of them. When a driver hands you a duty, they are handing you a customer relationship they may have spent ten years building. Behave like someone worth trusting with that.

What we expect from everyone

  • Be who you say you are. One real person, one account, your own documents.
  • Post only real duties that you are genuinely entitled to pass on.
  • Turn up. On time, in the vehicle you promised, ready to work.
  • Communicate. If something goes wrong, say so early - a call at 9 pm is a problem, a silence until 5 am is a disaster.
  • Quote fares honestly, and say clearly whether tolls are included or extra.
  • Protect the customer whose details you were trusted with.
  • Rate honestly, within the four-day window, based on what actually happened.

How we enforce this

Enforcement is proportionate. An honest mistake is not treated like fraud, and fraud is not treated like an honest mistake.

Action Typically used for
Warning A first, minor breach - a duplicate post, an unclear fare, a late cancellation with a genuine reason
Reliability score reduction No-shows, late cancellations, never confirming a duty you posted, letting the four-day rating window lapse
Content removal Fake, misleading, spam or unlawful duty posts; abusive ratings
Feature restriction Losing access to URGENT posting or to posting entirely, while an investigation runs
Strike A confirmed serious breach - no-show, fake duty, harassment, document misuse. Three strikes = permanent removal.
Immediate permanent removal Fraud, forged documents, poaching a customer, impersonation, threats of violence, or anything endangering a person

Reporting a breach

Use the report button on the duty or the driver's profile in the app - it attaches the record automatically and is the fastest route. If you cannot access the app, or the issue is off-platform, use the Report Abuse page.

  • Reports are reviewed by a person, normally within 24 hours.
  • Tell us what happened, when, and which duty it concerns. Evidence helps - screenshots, call records, photos.
  • We do not tell the reported user who reported them.
  • If someone is in immediate danger, contact the police on 112 first, then tell us.
  • Deliberately false reports are themselves a breach and can result in a strike.

Appeals

If you believe an enforcement decision was wrong, email hello@dutiess.com within 14 days with the phone number on your account and your explanation. A person who was not involved in the original decision reviews it, and we reply within 7 working days. Where an appeal succeeds, we lift the strike and restore any score effect.
