About us

We are building the thing drivers already do - properly.

Every day, thousands of Indian cab drivers pass bookings to each other through WhatsApp groups and phone calls. It works until it doesn't. Dutiess makes that exchange verified, accountable and free of brokers.

The story

One duty nobody could take

At 11 pm on an ordinary Tuesday, a driver in Dwarka got a call. His regular customer - a family he had driven for nine years - needed an airport pickup at 5 am. His car was in the workshop with a broken suspension.

He did what every driver in India does. He forwarded the booking to four WhatsApp groups and hoped.

A stranger replied within minutes. No photo. No licence. No history. Just a phone number and the word "Main karunga." The driver had no way to check anything, so he did what the system forces you to do: he trusted.

The stranger never showed up. The customer waited on the kerb at 5 am, missed the check-in, and never called that driver again. Nine years of trust, gone in one morning.

That is not an unusual story. Ask any driver at any airport queue in the country and you will hear a version of it. The duty exchange already exists - it is just running on hope, with brokers taking a cut for making a phone call.

We spent months in taxi stands, airport lots and agency offices across Delhi NCR, talking to more than 400 drivers, agency owners and fleet operators. Three things came up in almost every conversation:

  • "I don't know who I'm sending my customer to." No photo, no licence, no track record.
  • "The broker takes ₹300 from an ₹800 duty." For a phone call, from the person who did the driving.
  • "If he doesn't turn up, it's my name that's finished." The customer blames the driver they know.

So we built the exchange properly: every driver government-verified before they can see a single duty, the poster choosing who gets the job instead of whoever replies first, customer details hidden until the poster decides to share them, and not one rupee of commission on any fare.

"A driver's customer is his life's savings. We built Dutiess so no driver ever has to hand that to a stranger."

Our mission

To make every duty exchange between Indian commercial drivers verified, fair and free of middlemen - so that a driver who cannot serve a booking never has to choose between losing the customer and gambling on a stranger.

public

Our vision

A national network where any verified commercial driver, travel agency or fleet operator in India can find trustworthy help within minutes - and where reliability, not proximity to a broker, decides who gets the work.

The name

Why "Driver to Driver"

Most platforms in Indian mobility sit between the driver and the money. An aggregator takes the customer, sets the fare, keeps a percentage, and the driver becomes a supplier on someone else's platform.

Dutiess is deliberately the opposite. There are no passengers on Dutiess. You will never find a "book a cab" button here, because we are not in the ride business. The only people on the platform are verified commercial drivers and the businesses that run them.

"Driver to Driver" is our operating rule, not a tagline:

  • The customer stays yours. Their name and number are hidden from every applicant until you personally choose to share them with the driver you selected.
  • The fare stays whole. Dutiess never touches the money. The two drivers settle between themselves, exactly as they do today - we take zero commission and hold no wallet.
  • The choice stays yours. Applicants are ranked by what they have earned - rating, reliability score, duties completed - and you pick. It is not first-come-first-served.
  • The accountability is mutual. Both sides rate each other after every duty. No-shows and late cancellations cost reliability points. Three strikes and an account is removed.

We say it in eight languages inside the app for a reason. ड्राइवर से ड्राइवर तक - the work moves from one professional to another, and nobody in a call centre takes a slice on the way.

What we hold ourselves to

Four promises we designed the product around

verified_user

Verified or nothing

No driver sees a single duty before passing government DL and RC checks, an Aadhaar scan, a live face check and a photo match.

block

Zero commission

We do not hold, route or take a cut of any fare - during launch or after it. Our revenue is a flat subscription, visible to everyone.

Your customer is yours

Customer details are never public, never sold, never used for marketing, and never shown to anyone you did not choose.

Built for real phones

Eight Indian languages, works on 2G, designed for entry-level Android handsets - because that is what drivers actually carry.

Where we are

Delhi NCR first. Deliberately.

Forty verified drivers in one zone beat five hundred scattered across the country. A duty exchange only works if, when you post at 11 pm, somebody nearby is actually there to take it.

So we are launching in one market - Delhi, Gurugram, Noida, Ghaziabad and Faridabad - and we will not open a second city until the first one is dense enough that posts get filled reliably.

If you run a fleet or an agency in another city and want to be first when we arrive, tell us where you are.
